Rural residents and businesses in Wales with broadband speeds of less than 30 Mbps available may be eligible for additional funding from Welsh Government towards the cost of installing gigabit-capable broadband to their premises when part of a group project.
Welsh Government will pay up to an additional £1,500 per resident and £3,500 per small to medium-sized business (SME) in order to help connect harder-to-reach rural properties in Wales.
|Premises||UK Government’s UKGV Scheme||Wales top-up available||Total funding available for installation|
|Residential||Up to £1,500||Up to £1,500||Up to £3,000|
|SMEs||Up to £3,500||Up to £3,500||Up to £7,000|
Group projects are when two or more residents or businesses get together to combine their vouchers towards the cost of connections.
No separate application is required as eligible properties will receive the top-up funding when benefiting from a Rural Gigabit Voucher through a registered supplier taking part in the Scheme. See HERE for how vouchers work.
