Northumberland
Rural homes and small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Northumberland can now benefit from the fastest and most reliable broadband connectivity if they choose a gigabit-capable service part of a group project.
Northumberland County Council is investing £1.5 million to ‘top-up the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme. The council will pay up to an additional £2,500 per home and per SME in order to help connect harder-to-reach rural premises in the area which currently are not able to access broadband services of at least 30Mbps.
Premises | UK Government GBVS | Northumberland top-up available | Total funding available for installation |
---|---|---|---|
Homes | Up to £2,500 | Up to £4,500 | Up to £7,000 |
Businesses | Up to £2,500 | Up to £4,500 | Up to £7,000 |
Group projects are when two or more homes or businesses get together to combine their vouchers towards the cost of connections.
No separate application is required as eligible premises will receive funding from the Northumberland top-up when benefiting from a Gigabit Broadband Voucher through a registered supplier.
